D2 Survivors updates
What changed in the original game, what it means for your next session, and where to find the relevant help.
Latest build listed in the developer’s public changelog when checked on October 19, 2026: 20261018.8, dated October 18. Your browser or app may show a different build. These are selected summaries of the author’s notes, not independent confirmation of every fix or a complete release archive.
20261018.8 · Steam files, save imports and boss loot
Released October 18, 2026 · Developer-reported changes
- Steam D2R installations can be selected through their game folder or Steam library, in both versions of D2 Survivors.
- Crowded stash tabs should no longer stop a save import; the author says items are retained.
- The final boss’s loot collection and protection after an act boss dies were corrected.
For players: check your build if Steam setup previously failed. Use the folder guide and back up your current save before attempting a transfer. These notes do not establish a fix for every extraction error, including Not a DCC file.
20261018.7 · Save warnings and display fixes
Released October 18, 2026 · Developer-reported changes
The author reports clearer warnings when exiting without retaining progress, protection for saved runs that cannot be read, and better import handling when only an old run is incompatible. Other fixes cover scenery rendering, potion input and touch steering.
For players: read any save warning before leaving. Keep a backup and distinguish an incompatible run from lost equipment. Start with save help or missing-progress checks. Touch-input fixes in release notes do not establish that the current own-files setup supports phones.
Recent setup and main-menu changes
Builds 20261018.4–.6 introduced browser setup from your own files, added D2R support and announced the coming retirement of hosted resources. The menu was simplified to Play, Options and Saves. SAVES can export or import progress as a file or code. The author also reported Windows memory-use and file-read improvements.
For players: prepare your own installation using the file setup guide. Older screenshots or instructions may use different menu names. If copying still fails, use the file-import checklist rather than assuming the recent fixes cover your case.
Before refreshing or changing versions
- Save and exit the current run before reloading.
- Use SAVES to keep a backup when available, especially before importing another save.
- Note the build shown by the game or error report. The date on this guide is not your installed version.
- If a problem remains, include that build and the exact error in a report through the game’s Esc → Report option, or the developer’s Discord ↗.
We update the relevant guide when a change affects its instructions. For the complete release list, read the developer’s public changelog ↗ or News in the game. See the developer FAQ ↗ for current platform and save-transfer guidance.
